How Do Composite Fillings Work?
Composite fillings are made from dental composite resin, consisting of plastic and glass-ceramic particles. They are metal-free and can be shaded to match the rest of your surrounding teeth. This means that the fillings not only feel natural, but they also look like your enamel for a seamless restoration.
To receive your filling, your dentist will remove all the decay from your tooth and sculpt the resin to fill the cavity. The resin can be sculpted directly into the damaged or decayed area with less tooth preparation than silver or gold fillings.
